Biography

I am Dr. Aliyu Jamila, a soil scientist and agroforestry researcher with strong experience in soil survey, soil laboratory analysis, field data collection, and environmental monitoring. I have conducted soil surveys across different ecological zones, including classification of hydromorphic soils, evaluation of soil physical and chemical properties, land suitability assessment, and documentation of soil profile morphology using USDA/FAO classification systems. My work spans both academic and applied research within forestry, sustainable land management, agroforestry systems, and climate-focused environmental assessments. I have contributed to projects involving soil nutrient dynamics, carbon sequestration, spatial analysis, and environmental monitoring, working with Savanna Forestry Research Station and other academic and conservation institutions. I bring expertise in soil analytical techniques, spatial data processing, and the use of digital tools for environmental research, including R, ArcGIS, and remote sensing platforms.

Use of a GIS-Based AHP and Parametric Square Root Method for Land Suitability Assessment of Groundnut (Arachis hypogea L.) on Gurumpawo Toposequence

This study assessed the cultivation potential of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) along Gurumpawo toposequence, Ganye, Adamawa State, using the parametric square root method (SRM) and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Sustainable groundnut production in the area is threatened by declining soil fertility and topographic variability, while site-sp...
